The weather in Kefalonia has its peculiarities, just like the island itself. Due to its temperate Mediterranean climate, it has mild winters and relatively not very hot summers.

The best time to enjoy your vacation is either during the months of May-June or September-October. As much as possible, avoid the crowds of July and August. Also, Easter in Kefalonia will surely be unforgettable for you… Consider the spring alternative when nature is at its best!

In the event of an earthquake, please remain inside the building until the shaking stops. Stay away from bulky objects, such as cabinets, bookshelves, and air conditioners. Ideally, protect yourself under a sturdy wooden table or beam. Exit the building once the shaking has finished. Do not run down the stairs, do not use elevators, and avoid the coasts. Try to find a gathering point, such as a square or a nearby stadium.

When driving, be cautious of landslides caused largely by goats, which you may very well encounter in the middle of the road!!!!

Avoid driving into the center of Argostoli during the summer months, especially in the morning. It is likely that you will not find parking and will face difficulties. Park at the entrance of the city; near the KTEL building, there is public parking available.
